Surfing and Troncones are a match made in heaven. With multiple world class breaks it’s hard to think you wouldn’t be able to find something for you and your level of experience. Local surfer, instructor and board shaper Bruce Grimes swears by the beach break in front of Casas Gregorio. Imagine rolling out of bed in the morning and walking a few steps to the water and a great morning session!
Surfing not your thing? How about fishing? Boasting some of the finest fishing on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, we’ve got you covered there as well! Inshore for rooster fish, Spanish mackerel, grouper and more. Head off shore for sailfish, marlin and tuna. We can arrange your charter, transportation and even someone to cook up your catch. Not a fisherman? You can still enjoy a boat trip to see sea turtles, whales and dolphin.
Troncones is a nature lovers paradise. Late summer-early autumn brings the Olive Ridley sea turtles to our beaches to lay their eggs. Each nest can contain over a hundred eggs! The eggs are moved to holding areas for protection till they hatch and you can participate in releasing the new babies to the sea. We also have some of the finest birding in Mexico right here with well over 100 species. Let us arrange a local guide to take you out. There’s horseback riding, biking, hiking, beach combing, sunset walks and more.
Need something more? Just 25 minutes away are the towns of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. Ixtapa is a modern resort town filled with high rise hotels, boutique shopping and fine dining. A fun place to spend an afternoon, just watch out for the time share sharks... Zihuatanejo, once nothing more then a sleepy little fishing village, has grown into a vacation destination for travelers the world over. Shopping, dining, sightseeing and enjoying it’s beaches, all another good way to spend a little time away from your home here in Troncones. We can arrange for a taxi to show you around and bring you back.
With all these things to do and see, we doubt you will get bored here. In fact, we doubt you will ever stray very far away from your hammock or lounge chair right here at Casas Gregorio.
